Fractured Futures ~ Cover Reveal & Preorder

It’s hard to believe that the Bounders series is soon coming to an end. The fifth and final book in the series, Fractured Futures, will release on December 17, 2019. That’s only four months away! On my end, the final chapter is written, revised, and off to my publisher. The only thing left to do is print the book. Keep on reading for a cover reveal at the end of this post!

I started writing the Bounders series in 2012 around the time my oldest son fell in love with reading. He was devouring science fiction and fantasy series like Rick Riordan’s Percy Jackson and the Olympians, so I decided to write something I thought he would like. Sure enough, he’s a Bounders fan!

Time keeps a ticking, and now he’s about to start high school. My younger son–who wasn’t even in kindergarten when I started writing Bounders–is about to start middle school. He’s read all the Bounders books, too, and he’s always asking me for spoilers!

I’ve been lucky. My whole family has been on the book journey with me. We’ve had fun book launch parties where we’ve celebrated with friends and family and Bounders fans from far and wide. My older son’s rock band even played at one of the launch parties! We’ll make sure that the Fractured Futures launch party is the best one yet. Everyone’s invited, so if you’re in the Boston area, we’d love to see you at the party!

When I first thought up the Bounders and the EarthBound Academy, I had no idea I would one day be telling their story across five books. Now that I’ve written the final chapters, I equally can’t believe that their story is ending. Writing Fractured Futures was bittersweet for me, and I know it may be bittersweet for you as a reader, too. On one hand, I can’t wait for you to read about the amazing adventures that Jasper and friends have in this book (including their reunion with Mira!), and I’m excited for you to discover more about the Youli and the Intragalactic Council!

On the other hand, as we close out the series, I have to say goodbye to these awesome characters who have lived in my head for so long. It’s not really goodbye, though. They’ll always be right here in my imagination!

Isn’t the cover amazing? For the first time since the original hardcover edition of Bounders (Book 1), all of the main characters are on the cover, plus Addy! The cover illustrator, Owen Richardson, did a great job showing how the kids are growing up, and he perfectly captured the location. Any guesses where they are? You’ll have to read Fractured Futures to find out!
